The maximum width has been moved forward to allow for more parallel lines towards the tail, while the nose has been widened slightly to create better balance, improved control and comfort.

The new Barracuda V3 is easier to handle and more comfortable in both light and strong winds and now fits within a true “allround” program. In addition, the new “Pintail Winger Tail” was introduced with the idea of slightly increasing the tail width for better upwind performance when the rear foot moves forward, in front of the leash, and then drastically reducing the tail width just after the tip for incredibly responsive and insane turns! The mono-concave tail hull makes planing fast and maintaining control over choppy waters. Developed and tested in Cape Town by one of the most influential and radical kiteboarders in the South African kitesurf scene, the Rrd Barracudas V3 is not only a fast board that was born to handle all the power, but can now be revered as the only board you need in your quiver.

Maximizing weight doesn't just mean making a light board, it means making a board that lasts. This is what we achieved with the new UC construction. The updated and improved version of LTD technology. The EPS core is known for its lighter weight to strength ratio and memory compared to PU foam, but it has one big limit: it absorbs water in the event of a hole or crack through the laminate.

Luckily, we’ve put together the best of both worlds. To accomplish this feat, we’ve cut out a 4cm wide section that runs all the way around the board and replaced the EPS outer profile with 2 PU contour segments that are glued to the EPS core. By adhering the PU to the EPS, we’ve created a 4cm wide “waterproof” strip that covers the entire rail, nose and tail areas, keeping them totally waterproof in the event of a crack in the laminate.

The EPS core covers 80% of the board and creates a lively and floating center, while the PU foam slices in the rails cover approximately 20% of the total foam volume. The PU rail slices combined with the carbon inserts in the bottom and deck laminated over the EPS core create a fantastic and unique feeling of pop and flex.

The carbon web from the previous LTD construction has been modified with the use of a stronger yet more flexible web. This new web is made with Innegra fibers, crossed at 45° and combined with red directional polyester fibers which maintains maximum flexibility from nose to tail. To finish the board and keep it looking amazing for a long time, it is laminated with premium UV resistant epoxy resin formulated with a 30% biodegradable blend. RRD 's new United Cores (UC) construction will provide a light, crisp and precise finish with the added advantage of longevity and durability.

Rrd Barracuda V3 with Classic Pu technology (The Real Surf Feeling)

The Classic PU construction has been developed to create pure surfboards for pure wave riding and to allow control over choppy waters. We have improved the weight and strength of the boards this year. We are now using a high volume lightweight pigment in the resin. This type of resin fills the holes in the foam and reduces the amount of resin in the glass fibers, making the boards lighter. Classic boards have low fiber memory and low foam memory at the same time. This low memory gives our boards a proper surfboard feel. We recommend the Classic PU technology to riders who love the comfortable ride that this construction offers through its flexibility.

Rrd Barracuda V3 with LTE TECHNOLOGY, Built Tough, Lasts Long

The new LTE technology comes directly from the latest in molded surfboard technology which consists of a High Definition EPS core, made with a High Definition Super EPS mold, which is then injected with 36 Kgs/m3 density bits. This phenomenal core is so strong that you could ride it on the water without any lamination on it! The core has recesses in the deck of the boards, which creates the perfect location for the EVA shock absorbers to prevent heel dents. The Full Glass deck makes the board super flexible for use and really resistant to impact, creating unmatched durability.
